Linna Pea Rock 2011 - one of the oldest and most beloved one-day music events in Rapla county will be held on 1st April 2011. It is a charity event and all the best youth bands from Rapla county are performing.

9th Student Theatre Days – a three-day festival for amateur student theatre groups held in February 2011 in Viljandi Culture Academy. This festival showcases the plays of at least 6 Estonian student theatre groups, offers workshops, concerts and activities to develop the amateur theatre movement in Estonia. The Festival is organized by students for students and is one-of-a-kind in country. Webpage.

Gulliver’s Literature & Theatre Quiz and Recreational Adventure Quiz for children – a series of educational quiz games for school children aged 8-12, 13-15 and 16-19 about literature, theatre and cultural knowledge. Each age group is required to read some literature (connected with their curriculum), create little theatrical plays and compete with other groups for prizes (books, performance tickets). The quizzes are created by Jaak Känd, a well-known facilitator for youth in the Pärnu region. NGO Kah works in close collaboration with the local libraries, theatre houses and schools. Quizzes are going to take place in Pärnu, Tartu and Viljandi during winter and spring 2011.

Training Course “Multiple identities – one challenge. Tackling multiple discrimination in youth work”
The aim of the project is to empower its participants to tackle discrimination on various levels. Following the Treaty of Lisbon, identifying six types of discrimination, based on sex, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation. The activities will be based on a strong theoretical framework of dimensions and typologies of discrimination, European legislation over them, following through various tools that can be used in work with youth. The project ultimatively aims at developing participants’ competences

over dealing with discrimination in local, regional, national and international youth work.

The project is organized by ASHA Foundation.

Training Course “Democracy. Democracy. Creativity” in Latvia
This project focused on democracy and how to apply creative methods when introducing this topic with young people. The project was organized by Zemgale Centre NGO from Latvia and the participant countries were Romania, Turkey, Italy, Estonia and Latvia.

Training Course “Play it Right!” in Romania:
The project was delivered in Targu Jiu in Romania and had participants from Estonia, Romania, Ukraine, Moldova, Spain, Turkey, Armenia and Hungary. Throughout the training attendants were acknowledged with variety of human rights, discrimination and education. The exchange was organized by Act for a Safe and Healthy Environment and was funded through Youth in Action programme.

Youth Exchange “Houda ju du?” in Poland:
This project happened in August 2010 and it’s main theme was to
increase the knowledge and sensitivity on the topic of conscious consuming and sustainable development. Together with Turkish, Polish, Slovenian and French people the Estonian group worked on this topic and developed knowledge on other cultures as well. This project was funded by European Commission and organized by Polskie Forum Edukacji Europejskiej.

Youth Exchange “Living in Harmony With the Environment” in United Kingdom:
A youth exchange in the lovely Asha Centre was focused on the environment issues and how to live in harmony with it. Participating countries were Turkey, Estonia, United Kingdom, Poland and Bulgaria.

Sume suvelõpp (Mellow Summer’s End):
To celebrate NGOs 1st birthday on the 3rd September 2010, we organized the Mellow Summer’s End event. Two well-known writers and publishers, the Petrone’s met with their audience and shared stories. The children were entertained by story-teller Gulliver and an accordionist. Later three young dancers performed to Lydia Koidula‘s poems and in the evening there was a concert with Amarell and Viljandi Guitar Trio. The concert opened Merli Antsmaa’s photo exhibiton “Over one generation“. The event was funded by NGO Culture Helps to Breathe, Pärnu City Library, Estonian Culture Fund and Pärnu County culture fund.

Kreutzwald’s Quiz:
Kreutzwald’s Quiz was oriented for the 2nd to 4th grade pupils and was focused on F. R. Kreutzwald’s compilation “The Old Estonian Fairy-Tales”. It was funded by Pärnu City, Pärnu County culture fund, Pärnu City Library, Pärnu theatre Endla and Estonian Culture Fund.

Album “Hää tulla” of NolensVolens:
NolensVolens is an a’capella folk band from UT Viljandi Culture Academy. All members study to become actresses. They take their tunes from folklore but their own twist to it. “Hää tulla” (“Good to Come”) is their first album.

8th Student Theatre Days:
Student Theatre Days is a traditional festival happening in February. All student theatres of Estonia come to Viljandi to perform, learn new skills and have fun in the Festival Clubs.
